Saltwater Gallery

Arran’s new Saltwater Gallery is on the eastern side of the island, at entrance to the main path to Goatfell and walks around Brodick Castle gardens, in what was once the Castle’s laundry building. Now fully renovated to provide gallery space for contemporary art within walking distance of the town of Brodick, the gallery’s theme is understandably maritime, with many of its artists drawing inspiration from the sea and coastal life. Founded by accomplished seascape painter Senja Brendon, whose work is on show, the gallery plans two new exhibitions – Botany of the Scottish Islands and Dawn Days: Arran, alongside a display of original paintings, jewellery, ceramics, glass, prints, cards and other gifts.
