The upstairs gallery at J & G Innes in St Andrews has reopened with its Summer Exhibition, featuring new work by four artists. Alison Cage is a graduate in Illustration and Printmaking from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Her paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolour are influenced by Fife landscapes and wildlife. Also based in Fife, David Nicol is a trained architect who now works in landscape, portraiture and linocut prints. Glasgow-based Andrew Kenny works mainly in a bright palette of acrylic paints with subjects varying from rural coastal scenes to minimalist portraits. Also a trained architect, John Picken is mainly known for his iconic images of St Andrews students in their red gowns taking a Sunday walk on the harbour walls.
