The inaugural exhibition in the new No31 Gallery in Duns showcases five artists – Neil Bickerton, Maggie Hills, Jane Hyslop, Paul Keir and Andrew Mackenzie – whose practices span a wide range of technical and conceptual territories. 

They include a formal abstractionist, an artist whose images seem conjured from dream-like journeys, one who is inspired by meticulous observation of the botanical world, another whose paintings merge the man-made into larger natural landscapes and yet another who invents images in which faint echoes of half- remembered places and people are implied rather than fully stated.
