Scottish Country-folk duo Mist & Wing – Alan and Grace Murray – are launching a new single, Fade, with a short Scottish tour, taking in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Skye.

Known for their vocal harmonies, heartfelt lyrics and catchy choruses, the duo are sharing the bill with Midnight Painters – Anthony Madden and Aoibhinn Sweeney, who specialise in two-part harmonies, inspired by artists such as Big Thief, John Martyn and Radiohead, and Freddie Duck, who writes catchy, heartfelt tunes in an emotional ‘personal therapy experiment’.

The single, recorded at a studio on Lewis and released on 22nd Nov, was based by songwriter Alan Murray on the legend of the Cave of Gold (Uamh an Òir in Gaelic), local to Kilmuir in north-east Skye. The story cites a battle between a piper and a monster that guarded the cave’s hidden treasure, and as long as the piper can be heard, even to this day, he is said to be safe.

The duo’s sound has been likened to a blend of The Civil Wars, The Jayhawks and Angus & Julia Stone.
