Thirty members of the long-established Dumfries and Galloway Fine Arts Society are exhibiting at Samphire Gallery in Castle Douglas.
Founded in 1922 (early members included Jessie M King, her husband E A Taylor, C J Fergusson, E A Hornel and F C B Cadell), the Society is one of the oldest artist-run art groups in Scotland. It currently has over 200 members, 30 of whom are exhibiting in this show, including well known artists such as Hazel Campbell and Bella Green alongside newer members who are showing for the first time.
While Dumfries and Galloway is best known for its coastal scenes, seascapes and landscapes, this exhibition also has portraiture, colourist and impressionist work and printmaking. Works are also available via the gallery’s website and there is free delivery within a 100-mile radius.
