A touring exhibition by the Scottish Furniture Makers Association, Ash Rise features design, craft and art inspired by and made from a single Scottish ash tree, highlighting the impact of ash dieback, a fungus originating in Asia which has devastated the European ash. New furniture designs of chairs, cabinets and tables join sculptural wall pieces, a hand-made kayak, block-printed dyed textiles, paper art and a guitar, showcasing the potential of this precious resource.

Following its run at Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden, the exhibition continues to Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries from 22nd Jan until 22nd March.
