Beginning in 1815 with a small work epitomising the work of Sir David Wilkie, The Print Show at Edinburgh’s Fine Art Society gallery moves through the 19th and 20th centuries with names such as Eric Gill, William McCance, Paul Nash, Gertrude Hermes, Robert Colquhoun and Eduardo Paolozzi, rounding off with prints from the early 2000s as well as work from the estates of John McLean and Gerald Laing, whose work is pictured.
Also showing is Scottish Landscapes, with works ranging from the Enlightenment vision of nature such as by Rev. John Thomson of Duddingston and Alexander Nasmyth, to a substantial survey of the Trossachs by Horatio McCulloch and a large scale work by the Pre-Raphaelite Waller Hugh Paton. The exhibition also includes oils, watercolours and prints by the 20th century painter Sir D Y Cameron.
