New York-based artist Rachel Eulena Williams is staging her first major solo exhibition in the UK at DCA (Dundee Contemporary Arts), with a new body of work expanding on her exuberant use of colour, radical approach to materials and the playfulness and vitality in her practice. Embracing painting, sculpture and installation, she incorporates print, assemblage and bricolage to create layered, multi-dimensional shapes. Having mainly produced medium-scale artworks, she has taken full advantage of DCA’s expansive spaces with considerable pieces, while strips of canvas and rope suspended swing-like from the ceiling invite visitors into an exploration of colour and material. dca.org.uk
