Morningside Gallery in Edinburgh’s new exhibition All the Beauty is a showcase of Andrew Thompson’s delicately-painted Chinese vases, accompanied by a selection of paintings by a small group of artists whose work might be described as celebrating beauty both in nature and in art. Thompson’s nod to the Far East is echoed in Peter Munro’s Japanese Cranes on Ice (pictured) and kimono-clad figures.
Other highlights include Hedi Munro’s stunning, large scale gold leaf and painted panels, floral studies by Mhairi McGregor RSW, Ann Oram RSW and Marion Drummond PAI, Hebridean and Icelandic landscapes by Jennifer Irvine RGI RSW and jewel-like figure studies by Joe Hargan PAI PPAI RGI.
