Handmade in Ayr is set to host a number of events in the run-up to Christmas: its 19th annual Carrick Rd Christmas Exhibition, hosted with Leona Stewart Glass, is on 23rd Nov – 7th Dec at 10 Carrick Road, Ayr KA7 2RB, comprising work by 50 artists. Some of Leona’s work is pictured below.

There will also be a Christmas Shopping evening on 28th Nov at Robert Burns’ Birthplace Museum in Alloway. 5:30 – 8:30pm, with festive refreshments, music, locally-made wreaths and work by fifty Handmade in Ayr artists and makers.

On 7th – 8th Dec there will be an art market at the Museum, comprising the work of forty local artists – a great opportunity to ‘shop local’, with free admission and parking, a lovely garden and a café. Run by the National Trust for Scotland, the Museum is described as the ‘birthplace of a genius – a celebration of the enduring legacy of Scotland’s national poet’, and ideal for anyone wishing to get to know more about the man and his work.

That weekend, another Handmade in Ayr ART market will take place in Alloway Village Hall on Sat 7th Dec, 10am – 4pm, with thirteen artists exhibiting and giving demonstrations on their techniques throughout the day.
