The Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh is set to show In Orcadia – an exhibition inspired by the unique wild landscape and natural environment of Orkney. The exhibition will include a new body of work from the inaugural winner of the RSA MacRobert Art Award for Painting, Samantha Clark, whose work is pictured. In Orcadia also features work by Academicians who are based on, or have been inspired by Orkney, including Anne Bevan RSA (Elect), Victoria Crowe RSA, Frances Pelly RSA, Dame Barbara Rae RSA and Frances Walker RSA.
Also showing, until 23rd Feb, is Dürer to Van Dyck: Drawings from Chatsworth House – a spectacular group of some fifty Flemish, Dutch, early Netherlandish and German drawings and watercolours, spanning from about 1500 to 1700, and Cauld Blaws the Wind – a seasonal collection of work by a range of Royal Scottish Academicians.
