You can follow the red dots on the Artmap Argyll Open Studios map and unearth treasures in almost forty artists’ studios and other venues in one of Scotland’s most beautiful regions. Spread over a large area, from Taynuilt in the north to beyond Campbeltown in the south, Tiree and Islay in the west and Furnace in the east, is a community of artists and makers who draw inspiration – and materials – from their wild and beautiful surroundings.
Drawing from the colours, weather and ancient history, the resulting artworks range from abstract to realism in a variety of media, including stone, paint, ink, clay, glass, willow, photography, printmaking, wool, wood, textiles, precious metals and found objects. The journey between studios is an experience in itself. To download the map go to Artmap Argyll’s website (see left).
