Perthshire Open Studios features many of the area’s artists and makers who will open their doors to invite visitors into see their work spaces to browse their work: this year sees the Studios’ debut Annual Summer Show.

The group comprises over seventy painters, woodcrafters, photographers, leather workers, textile designers, glass artists, illustrators and jewellers – some are running demonstrations and offering taster sessions and all are happy to chat about their process, inspiration and work.

Among the makers and artists taking part are ceramicists Ceri White and Jacquie Clark, painters Jonathan Mitchell, Hilary Law, and Susan Gillies (whose work is pictured above), jewellery designers Roberta Pederzoli and Inez Jenkins, glass artists John Anderson, Lorna Radbourne, Lynn Shilp, Lesley Garside and Lesley J Bruce (*see below), and willow artists Rachel Kirk and June McEwan.

The event is one of three making Perthshire a year-round arts destination, alongside its Creative Trail, and Open Studios Festival. The all-year Creative Trail features 15 galleries and 32 artists’ studios (including 17 in the Perth Creative Exchange) allowing visitors and locals to meet artists, visit galleries, discover walks and distilleries throughout the year, and in September there is the ever-popular Perthshire Open Studios Festival.

Lesley J Bruce's glasswork 'Jellyfish' was chosen as Best in Show by artists attending the preview on 30th June. The £250 award was sponsored by Artisan& Gallery Aberfeldy.
