Bookending the region-wide Cowal Open Studios (20th – 23rd Sept), an exhibition at Dunoon Burgh Hall features a number of Cowal-based artists and makers alongside three guest artists from beyond the Peninsula: Daniel Martin paints dramatic skyscapes and water scenes, John MacDonald, whose work is pictured, takes an abstract approach to his work in acrylics, and sculptor Frances Clark, whose ceramic works represent human and animal forms. The show is an open studios weekend in miniature in more ways than one – none of the works is bigger than A4 in size.
