Exploring the history of printmaking and its vital role in Scottish art, the latest edition of Modern Masters at The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh showcases the legacy of artist Robin Philipson (1916-1992), a central figure in the Edinburgh School and a pivotal influence on Scottish art. The exhibition also features artists who trained or taught at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee, while highlighting the significant contributions of Hospitalfield in Arbroath, a renowned centre for contemporary art and ideas.

Also showing is Colin Brown: Nature Anthem, a series of urban/botanical hybrid paintings which combine a celebration of nature, but with a deep concern for human damage on the planet, and Monochrome, a selection of ceramics, glass, wood, sculpture, furniture and jewellery by UK and international artists, each playing with the use of a single colour to evoke emotion, contrast or harmony to highlight the power of simplicity in tone, form and material.
